Writer's Retreat
+£60 /per person/per stay*
So, you ruined your chance to complete that chapter. You have to go to work now, and once returned those clothes and plates, the floor, and even you will need washing again. And the kids….you forgot the kids….
perhaps you need is a retreat?
Of course, if you were to book a retreat you may get to escape those tormentors, get your head down, gain your chance to complete the most important thing you've ever attempted. And sure, it does pay to go to a retreat, someplace supportive of writers alone – a desk with a meal and drink, a great view, and only you to worry about. It's time to get some well earned peace and quiet then.
The problem, however, arrives when you realise, that its you..."...what, me?...Ohh, you're right; I'm unorganised, I don't sleep. When I work I don't hydrate or eat properly, and when I do it's biscuit or cake, coffee, and look...I find distraction in everything, in fact I think was I was born to procrastinate."
What you really need is a 'This Cornish Sanctuary' writer's retreat
Once added to your rental booking, we ask you to complete a short survey – your chance to describe what sanctuary means to you, so that, before you arrive, we can go to work on your general needs.
We check for any intolerances, whether you're a vegan, pescatarian, vegetarian, or meat eater. This allows us to prepare an itinerary, along with a few special-items to help us create your own personal sanctuary.
* Please select Writer's Retreat Add-on when booking your accommodation.
You will arrive to discover your chosen hot-meal and drink awaits, along with our rental and a writer’s pack. Currently that includes information on writing events, writer groups, libraries and book stores in the local area, how best to get there and back. We include a writer’s guide, chosen from a list of ten well-known authors (provision of which is dependant upon availability) any one of which, whether novice or seasoned writer, you'll find particularly helpful when it comes to narrative craft. For your comfort we provide a tailored herbal-tea. And, if you like to burn the midnight oil, coffee is at hand – although we do advise on how best to return to circadian rhythms. You will also discover bath salts, along with two specifically hand-blended essential oils to help with your craft. Your host, Paul, is an unpublished but time-served writer of Science Fiction. He attends writer groups and applies his skills as a Beta and Alpha reader, offering helpful advice on structural editing, character development, dialogue, and tone. If you happen to be a seasoned writer, hoping to produce a few thousand words each day, or are currently writing a non-fiction project – perhaps you need help with images, or help restructuring pages – help is at hand. If you happen to get stuck, feel blocked or overwhelmed, Paul is also a seasoned life-coach. and while his partner, Katerina, is also an artist and graphic designer, any blocks in creativity, or kinks in the page and are sure to be unblocked or ironed out.
