Meet your hosts

Seemingly obsessed with most things natural, along with anything else they discover to light them up, Paul and Katerina (Pablo and Kat) are true creatives. Each is passionate, not only about this land – its fauna and flora, the wild sea and ancient hills – or simply the healing path that led them here, but their fellow human’s healing.

Like many who bring up children, working respective jobs, at the same time trying to be all they can, Paul and Kat discovered life was passing them by. Like many they felt their society was not fit, and changing their focus decided to look at themselves, and exactly what was driving their fortunes. For taking guidance they each felt a deep-shift in personal perspective, and not long after – each taking their own personal journey with cancer – went about grounding themselves. It wasn't long before they decided to take the road less travelled, answering a call to self-healing and guiding others.

In the creation of This Cornish Sanctuary they now feel proud to be doing their part, in building a nature-led and symbiotic community. They invite local-professionals and like-minded creatives to join them here, and hope to honour this land, not only by inviting holiday makers, walkers and writers, along with so many other enthusiasts to sample their hosting, but knowing how each deserves abundance, by inviting all who arrive into letting go.

Since arriving to this part of Cornwall, armed with a new and deeply-personal understanding of what service and self-care means, they now feel ready to help others dip their toe into caring better for themselves, as well as honouring community.

Having taken their time, and care, to purposefully actualise their own calling, these two are sure to help anyone disconnected back to ground.

"We deserve our chance to change things up, to rediscover ourselves in the midst of life. And why not start here, surrounded by nature, supported by passionate healers. I'm very proud to know so many heart-led folk, each one dedicated and willing to share their skills; I get excited when  clients arrive, knowing they’re about to have the most fantastic time.”

Working physically for much of his life – as a mechanic and welder, a fencer then landscaper, later using his skills in renovating – Paul finally helped to create what still remains a successful sculptural-metalwork business. But, as society became more impoverished, each year less responsive to his own and his community's needs, stressed and tired of chasing the day Paul was drawn to heal.

As a guide he now offers his time and support to anyone who wants to reconnect, ultimately back to themselves, always hand in hand with nature. he spends much of his time either greeting people or making things, in the gaps managing the gardens and organising all he can for folk who arrive. He also writes, and can be found enjoying a biscuit along with tea in the garden (Sonny, the dog usually in attendance)

“Over 25 years, what have I learnt? Well, you have to keep adapting, keep learning, keep stretching yourself, but most important, stay connected to your own creativity.”

As an artist and illustrator, graphic designer and digital creative, Kat is attuned to downloading each day – not only from the cloud, but more directly from Mother nature. Both inspired and inspiring she creates using nature her-guide, folk-lore and archetype too. As a weaver and knitter,  maker, and lover of herbs, she really is an all-round creative. "But," she says, "once I discovered first-hand how little is taught about menopause, and for informing myself, learned how, with relatively simple-advice on herbal remedies, us women-folk can stay well and empowered, I also tend to keeping my hand in the ground."

For taking a personal journey through breast-cancer, at the same time lessor-understood menopause, Kat now knows a thing or two about personal transition. And while using good-nutrition and herbal remedy revitalises, she is happy to share that knowledge, is most happy when helping others.

She spends her time as a graphic designer and artist, creating environmental-art and other content, to help heal our struggling natural environment. She can often be found – easel up and brush in hand, observing nature – grubby for her latest artwork.

Our Mission Statement

To promote healing by helping others back to nature and nature’s own medicines.

How we choose to support others

We provide our guests with more than just a rental home, offering optional formative-guidance, and access to professional tutoring on subjects linked to personal wellbeing – both physical and mental. We offer inclusive support by making ourselves available to share our own personal journey, and invite our clients to try habit-changing routines, so that once returning home, and while unable to afford what are normally expensive full-and-tailored courses, they might still manage their way to better health and vitality.
